 The historic town of Landerneau is just five
minutes from the resort. The old town still retains cobbled streets and
sidewalk cafés. Local markets are on Saturdays and Mondays and
|
offer a diverse range of foodstuffs and clothing. The river
estuary here is home to local sailing boats, some of which can be chartered by
private arrangement. The inhabited former toll bridge dates back centuries and
is one of the last three remaining such bridges in Europe. During the summer,
there are numerous festivals and fetes, the most famous being the July Celtic
Festival which lasts for one week. As usual, there is an excellent selection of
restuarants offering a broad range of menus from the Creperie to formal
gastronomic. |
| The local
villages of La Martyre and Daoulas, both within a ten minute drive of the
resort, have ancient and well preserved abbey and cathedral. Both villages host
frequent art exhibitions of both foreign and French art. |

Within a
short driving distance from the club, there are a selection of spectacular
secluded sandy beaches. the closest is at Brest, but some of the most memorable
are slightly north at the fishing villages of Brignogan and St. Paul de
Léon. |
| Brest is a
modern city with a full range of quality shops and facilities. The port which
is dominated by the 11th century Chateau is a popular detination for pleasure
yachts. the marina is a lively nightspot. Along the waterfront, there are a
number of excellent seafood restaurants and nautical antique
shops. |
